WHO WE ARE

Hey I’m Sammi!

I am the founder, baker, designer, social media manager and just about everything else behind this Yorkshire based wedding cake design studio.

In addition to running Cake & Coe, I’m a doctor, dog-mum, and all round countryside enthusiast. When I am not working or baking, you’ll most likely find me outside spending time with my husband and our sprocker spaniel, Rocky. Other than seeing your wedding cake set up and come together with all your styling on the big day, I’m at my happiest when trying to cuddle any animal, singing musicals in my kitchen and generally being silly surrounded by beautiful scenery.

  • My passion for baking began many years ago when I was a child. Somewhere between family holidays in Scotland serving up imaginary treats to anyone who would indulge me, at the make-believe ‘Coe’s café’ in my grandad’s caravan, and spending weekends baking with my mum, my love for baking was ignited.

    In fact, my business is named after my grandad, Dennis Coe. He was my father figure and biggest supporter in every way. Especially during those early childhood baking years, reassuring me that my cake covered in blue drippy icing and an abundance of sprinkles was of course delicious!

    Thankfully 20+years of baking has refined the end product somewhat!

  • It wasn’t until the infamous lockdown of 2020 that I decided to turn my hand to business and the rest, as they say, is history!

     

    Cake & Coe started by making cupcakes and treat boxes for all those local small-scale get-togethers between 2020-2022. It wasn’t until Steve (my now husband) popped the question and I started planning my own wedding, that I became enchanted by the magic and found my love for the wedding industry- creating an unforgettable and delicious experience tailored to each of my couples.

  • As a 2024 bride myself, I can empathise with your concerns and stresses that come with all the ‘wedmin’, and as a doctor I understand the importance of communication and the value in attention to the smallest of details. I am able to bring all of this to Cake & Coe by creating a bespoke experience for you both to relish and enjoy in the lead up to your big day. I’ll work closely with you, your suppliers and venue to create a wedding cake tailored to your specific needs, preferences and dreams.
